Justified True Belief

Justified True Belief is a traditional account of knowledge.

The phrase 'S knows that P' is true if and only if

1. S believes that P.
-S can not simply imagine it

2. P is true

3. S is justified in believing P.
-justified= having reasons

-a factive verb is needed when discussing the truth of p. i.e. "S discovers P" or "S remembers P"
-justification reduces the possibly of luck.

to know is to have a true belief. But true beliefs are not knowledge because JTB are (typically) stumbled upon whereas knowledge is not.
