Greta Thunberg: Time Traveler

We have all been hearing the name: Greta Thunberg
The 16 year old activist from Sweden who has been getting under Donald Trump's skin all year. Recently titled Time Magazine's Person of the Year, Thunberg was introduced to the world in August of last year when she spent her days sitting on the steps of Swedish Parliament holding a sign that read "skolstrejk för klimatet" which translates to "school strike for the climate."

As we all know we only have a handful of years before the climate crisis becomes irreversible, and unfortunately, we haven't been doing much to fix that. It is especially not easy when a decent amount of the population doesn't even believe in climate change. However Thunberg has been making a huge impact this year. She has been sparking strikes all over the world, speaking to various parliaments as well as the U.N., the attention of the authority figures of the world. So how was such a young girl able to acquire so much power in such a short amount of time? Some might say she is persistent and knows which angles to take to be heard. However, a conspiracy theory is in the works right now that maybe, she is from the future.

Last month, the Twitter account @history2cool posted a picture of 3 children at a gold mind in the Yukon Territory in 1898. The young girl on the left side of the picture undoubtedly bears a resemblance to Thunberg.

Thunberg has not commented on the theory but just before it happened she posted this black and white photo of herself, perhaps knowing what was soon to occur…

One personal theory is that assuming the effects of climate change do become irreversible within 11 years [4], I assume this is around when the time machine she traveled in was built. Maybe with it being a new development, they were still trying to work out the kinks. This would explain how she ended up in the Yukon Territory 120 years ago initially instead of modern times. i can't imagine there was anything too special about this time and place.

And one last depressing note to end on comes from twitter user @bucketofmoney who claims that perhaps the picture is from the future rather than the past. A bleak, dystopian future in which history has begun repeating itself.
