Eazy-E…Should It Be Believed?

The purpose of this evaluation of the conspiracy is to locate the criteria for a conspiracy theory according to Mandik’s paper “Shit Happens”. And evaluate if the conspiracy aligns with his requirements. I will then explain if the conspiracy that Eazy-E’s death of HIV/AIDS was an act of a calculated murder should or shouldn’t be believed.

The Criteria for a Conspiracy Theory According to Mandik
1. An explanation of the conspiracy
2. Explanation of historical events
3. Multiple agents/groups involved in the conspiracy
4. The agents purposefully work in secret
5. The alleged agents/groups intend to make the event happen

The Conspiracy of Eazy-E’s death

Eazy-E was dead because of his beef with Suge before he even knew it. Suge Knight was notorious for using an extreme/excessive amount of force against anyone who went against him. Due to his ongoing issues with rapper Eazy-E, who allegedly planned on killing Knight, Knight knew he would have to eliminate the rapper before it was too late. Suge Knight was able to get away with causing his death because his method to kill him couldn’t truly be investigated or proven. More details about the conspiracy

Does Mandik’s Requirements Align With the Conspiracy?

For the first requirement, the conspiracy theory does offer an explanation on why Eazy-E died of HIV/AIDS. But the way he contracted the illness wasn’t conventional and made the public and those close to him believe he was targeted. Eazy-E did hold a press conference on March 17, 1995 and announced he was diagnosed with HIV, so this was a historical event for the public and media.

Did Multiple Agents Work In Secret In The Conspiracy? Was It Intentional?

For the conspiracy, it was alleged that Suge Knight and those who worked for him/did his bidding had a major part in Eazy-E testing positive for HIV. It can not be proven that they had a part, so it satisfies the requirement that the agents had to work in secret) and Eazy-E himself couldn’t place blame on anyone for him contracting the virus. Suge Knight during a taped interview did talk about the conspiracy of Eazy-E’s death and agreed thats how he died, but didn’t admit that he himself was the agent behind it. A transcript from the interview stated, ““If you shoot somebody, you go to jail forever. You don’t want to go to jail forever. They have a new thing out. They have this stuff they called—they get blood from somebody with AIDS and they shoot you with it. That’s a slow death. The Eazy-E thing. You know what I mean?” [2] Eazy-E had a reputation for being a womanizer and had frequent sexual partners, for him to be the only person in his circle of lovers to test positive means that there had to be foul play involved. Suge Knight wouldn’t have a real reason to intend for his children and lovers to also contract HIV as they weren’t his enemies. And the quote, “leave the women and children out of it” still holds true.

Did The Event Happen?

Eazy-E died 9 days after announcing to the world that he tested positive for HIV. So it means that the agents (Suge Knight and his associates) did succeed in their mission to kill Eazy-E.

Should It Be Believed?

After evaluating Mandik’s theory, I would say that the conspiracy theory should be believed. According to Mandik’s “Shit Happens” [1], the alternative theory/official story is that Eazy-E contracted HIV simply from a sexual partner. But unfortunately, the alternative theory/official story is not as likely as the proposed conspiracy theory. This is partly due to the fortuitous data regarding the fact that his partners never tested positive or his children (who are biologically his). This means that the conspiracy theory accounts for this fortuitous data, while the official story doesn’t explain why or how that is possible. Information on what fortuitious data means here. It’s also important to note that his wife gave birth to their second child 6 months after he died. Meaning that he would’ve had to test positive around the time he had unprotected sex with his wife to conceive a child, this was also fortuitous data as the child and his wife should’ve contracted HIV, but according to the official story they didn’t. To believe in this conspiracy means to simply trust what science tells us due to the circumstances of this case. It is believed that Eazy-E did indeed have HIV, but the way that he could’ve contracted the virus wasn’t the method we would assume. We should acknowledge the unanswered questions the conspiracy theory attempts to answer, as there are some things the conspiracy could answer that the official story couldn’t. It would and should be reasonable for one to simply not trust the official story as there are many holes in the story.
